Most privacy policies describe what a company does with your data. This one describes why there is none to describe.
PDFeyes has no server that receives your files. Every tool on this site runs inside your browser using JavaScript that was downloaded to your device. Your documents, your form data, your bank statements and your contractor details are opened into your own computer's memory, processed there, and discarded when you close the tab.
We do not receive your files. We therefore cannot read them, store them, sell them, lose them, or be compelled to hand them over.
A privacy claim you cannot check is worth very little. This one takes thirty seconds to test:
It works. It cannot be sending your document anywhere, because there is no connection. You can also open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and watch: no request carrying your file is made, because none exists.
Nothing that identifies you. Specifically:
Two tools offer to remember something, and both store it in your own browser rather than on any server:
sessionStorage, which your browser erases when you close the tab. If you tick "keep on this device", it moves to localStorage and stays until you erase it with the button on that page or clear your browser data. That option is off unless you turn it on.Data in your browser's storage is accessible to anyone who can use your computer. On a shared or public machine, leave the "keep on this device" option off.
This site is served by a commercial web host. Like essentially every website, the host's server records standard request information: the IP address that requested a page, the time, the page requested, and the browser's user agent string. These are ordinary server logs, retained by the host under their own policy, and they record which pages were requested, never the contents of any document you open in a tool, because those contents are never transmitted.
This site is a set of document tools intended for general and business use. It is not directed at children under 13, and no personal information is knowingly collected from anyone, of any age.
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, in force since 1 July 2024, gives Texas residents rights to confirm whether a business is processing their personal data, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or of targeted advertising.
We do not collect, process, sell or share personal data, so there is nothing to disclose, correct, delete or opt out of. There is no profiling and no targeted advertising, because there is no advertising at all. The same answer applies to the equivalent rights under the GDPR, the CCPA and other state privacy laws: we hold nothing about you.
If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will explain in detail what is and is not stored. You may also contact the Texas Attorney General, who enforces the TDPSA.
Texas Business and Commerce Code chapter 521 requires notification when sensitive personal information is compromised. Because no document you open, and no personal information, is ever transmitted to or stored on a server we control, there is no store of user data here that could be breached. A compromise of this website could serve you altered code, which is a real risk on any site, but it could not expose files you processed in the past, because those were never held anywhere but your own device.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the architecture ever changes in a way that means files are transmitted, that will be stated plainly at the top of this page and on the affected tool, not buried in a revision.
