Permit requirements by city and trade

One page per city, covering how that city actually takes an application, what has to be registered first, the insurance wording it wants and what a permit costs you in time. Every fact was read off that city's own published pages, and the date it was read is at the foot of each page. Cities we have not read are not listed, because a guessed permit requirement is worse than no page at all.

Texas cities are in the middle of moving permits online, and they are not moving at the same speed. Jersey Village has finished and takes applications only through a portal. Humble is partway, and still runs plan-submission permits on paper. Which one you are dealing with changes what you need before you start.
